Federal Government Insulation Grant

Home Insulation Program is the important part of the Energy Efficiency Homes packages of government rebate. You may fulfil the criteria to be eligible to receive free insulation under the Energy Efficient Homes package offered by Federal Government of Australia. Most eligible home owners will get grant upto $1600 for one home. From September 2009, rebate for tenants increased from $1000 to $1600.

 

Insulation Program targets homes that are currently uninstalled, or they were built before the mandatory thermal performance requirements under Australian Building Code 2003, and have very little ceiling insulation at current situation.

 

Insulation rebate commenced on 3 February 2009. From 1 July 2009 to 31 August 2009, grant for owner occupiers and renter properties were different. Current program from 1 September 2009 to 31 December 2011 provides maximum allocated rebates for all eligible households, Program can be finished early if funds have been fully allocated.

New guidelines for insulation installed after 1 September 2009 can be checke on Energy Efficiency Website. All tenants also can have upto $1600 rebates on roof insualtion installation.

You can receive a rebate under Homeowner Insulation Program even if your insulation was installed before 1 September 2009, In that case Renters will get rebate as per Low Emmission Assistance Plan.
